You’re searching for a job, and you’ve finally landed an interview. Congratulations! Now what??
You haven’t interviewed in years. And you have no idea what to expect in today’s hiring environment.
You saw an ad somewhere for a “15-minute practice interview complete with feedback”. Is this the right way to go?
Here’s what you need to know:
1. Everyone needs to practice interviewing. It’s a skill that requires preparation, and you don’t want to bomb an interview because you didn’t take the time to practice.
2. Schedule a mock interview a few days before the real interview so the practice is fresh in your mind.
3. While AI interview feedback tools are an option, generally these types of tools provide generic feedback that may or may not be useful. Use your time wisely. As a former recruiter, I’ve interviewed hundreds of people, so I can provide concise, meaningful, and honest feedback.
4. Prepare for two different sets of questions. Everyone should practice basic 1st interview screening questions. Also prepare to answer why you are applying to a specific company. For the second set of questions, focus on the job description. Expect questions related to your qualifications, accomplishments, and motivation for that specific job.
Ensure you’re well prepared. Schedule a free 30-minute virtual consultation to discuss your situation and I’ll explain how this interview practice works.
Then we’ll schedule a one-hour practice virtual interview based on your availability. You’ll receive real-time feedback from a former recruiter, as well as a list of possible interview questions relevant to your situation. The process is straightforward and affordable.
